Very Positive Experience

We had a very positive experience working with [Nelson Contracting]. We had the following done:

• New kitchen cabinets
• Installed granite counter tops
• Installed ceramic tile in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms
• Installed new kitchen sink and faucet
• Tiled under laundry area Installed new shower door
• Installed new baseboards in the bathrooms and kitchen

 

[They] came in on a Tuesday and finished up the following Thursday. It just took him 8 days to finish everything. We were quite impressed with [their] workmanship. [They are] very open to feedback and listened to any of our concerns and questions during the remodel. The work area was kept very clean and neat at the end of each day, which we really appreciated.

[Nelson Contracting] subcontracts out the tiling and the granite installation. [The] workers were very prompt, efficient and did quality work for us. We are extremely happy with [their] workmanship and will definitely hire him again in the future.

Fine Work

[Nelson Contracting] installed cabinetry for us in two units. [Their] work was fine and [they were] very pleasant.

I am a stickler for detail and scheduling. If there is one thing I have learned from that project is to have specific dates for the completion of the various stages of the project tied to compensation.

[They were] better at timing than our general contractor.

Great Experience

[Nelson Contracting] handled the kitchen renovation for our condo in San Francisco two years ago. We had a great experience working with [them] . I had heard horror stories about contractors - going over budget, taking more time than estimated, etc., so we were nervous in working with one for the first time, but Jeff was great. He gave us a reasonable quote, and there were no surprises on sudden 'additional work' necessary. [They] went over everything with us carefully, and there were never uncertainties or unanswered questions.

The backsplash we chose after [they] started working on the kitchen was small glass tiles, which were far more dificult to install than standard tiles, and it took a lot more time for [them] to finish than initially planned, but he didn't charge us more for the work.

[Nelson Contracting] sourced the granite counter handler for us, who was also priced very reasonably, and did meticulous, great work.

It's been two years, every part of the kitchen looks fantastic and we love it. We'd absolutely work with [them] again. In fact, we have been considering doing some more renovation work on our home and [they were] the first person we called :)

Integrity

[They have] done an excellent job. [Jeff Nelson of Nelson Contracting] and his crew are neat and tidy up everyday. This includes sweeping out the driveway etc. I have heard from others, that is a good sign about a contractor.

[Nelson Contracting] unveiled issues with our sub-flooring which he fixed and raised some additional joists underneath the house. If [they] did not identify this, we would have seen our floor cracking in about 1-2 years timeframe. That displayed integrity and good workmanship for me especially since I heard horror stories from a friend where this happened and she had to re-marble the whole area.

[They are] always available on cell phone (including weekends). If [they do] not pick up, [they] generally respond within an hour or so. Plus, [they] use email which is convenient for me to communicate with [them]. If a design issue araises, [they] readily identify it and review it with you.

Spectacular!

We moved Amanda in today, and the apartment is spectacular! You did a great job, and we are all so pleased with the result. I was frankly not looking forward to this renovation but you really made it a pleasant and worthwhile endeavor. You are a true professional , and it shows!!
